Ecco, no longer Winnipeg’s best kept secret, has been bringing music to the Manitoba scene since 1996. With members from a wide variety of backgrounds, this group has found a unique niche in the Winnipeg music community. Providing a regular concert season, in addition to at least one special event, Ecco has a focus on community and family, both within its membership, and for the community at large.
The name is derived from the Greek spelling of 'echo', and takes both name and meaning from the myth of the nymph Echo, whose legacy it is to echo back what she hears. Through the diversity of our membership, we strive to echo back what we hear in our community.
Happy to be the choral world’s answer to the Kitchen Party, Ecco brings accessible, quality music to Winnipeg, and in doing so, provide a positive experience which leaves those who hear us feeling uplifted.
In addition, we use the opportunity to encourage further community participation and awareness, such as asking for audience members to bring food donations for food banks, and taking collections for local charities and food banks at all of our regular concerts.
