About Us

Artistic Director

Carrie
Carrie Schellenberg Wilson

Carrie is enjoying her third year as Ecco's Artistic Director. She is excited to be working with such a talented group of singers and musicians. She spends many happy hours pouring over repertoire and imagining different ways of leading this group in their pursuit of meaningful music. She is also in her second year as the Choral Teacher at River East Collegiate. Music education is a very important aspect of Carrie's career and she feels lucky to have such great opportunities. This year she will direct the Divisional High School Choir at the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra's Community Outreach concert with the River East Transcona School Division in November.

Carrie is very grateful for the support of her husband and children, Isaak and Kate. They balance out their busy schedules by enjoying rural life on their hobby farm in Libau.

Accompanist

Carrie
Madeline Hildebrand

Madeline Hildebrand recently graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Bachelor degree in Piano Performance, under the tutelage of Judy Kehler Siebert and Rei Hotoda. Maddy was awarded first place in the 2008 Manitoba Provincial Festival piano finals, and received runner up in the Aikens Trophy class in the Winnipeg Music Festival. Maddy spent the summer working as a collaborative pianist in Winnipeg’s Contemporary Opera program studying under celebrated instructor Karl Paulnack. As a product of the program, she performed in the world premiere of ‘Jack and his Jillions’, a chamber opera by Winnipeg composer, Luke Nikkel. Maddy is back at the U of M “re-uniting” with her past love, the acoustic bass and studying jazz with Steve Kirby.
