Artistic Director

Carrie Schellenberg Wilson

Carrie feels lucky any time she is involved with something she loves to do: sing! She started her music education in Steinbach and is enjoying her fifth year as Artistic Director for Ecco. She spends many happy hours imagining different ways of leading this group in their pursuit of meaningful music. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Music from the University of Winnipeg and Concord College. Carrie has taught music in various communities throughout Manitoba, most recently as the Choral Teacher at River East Collegiate. In 2010 she conducted the Central Manitoba Youth Choir, and has acted as a clinician for the Eastman and Central Manitoba region in 2011. Currently, she finds herself pursuing a career in management at Superior Technologies. Carrie is very grateful for the support of her husband and children, balancing out their busy schedules by enjoying rural life on their hobby farm in Libau.

Artistic Director

Philip Lapatha

Philip was born and raised in Winnipeg. He has two Bachelor degrees (Music and Education), and a Master's degree (focusing on piano, theory, and theology). A prior tenor in Ecco, Philip has crossed to the other side of the podium as Ecco's co-director. He is a choir and math teacher at Maples Collegiate but also spends his time co-directing the SonoLux Choir, arranging choral music, teaching piano, and participating in Elim Chapel's music ministry. If he can ever get away from music, then tennis, disc-throwing, and Settlers of Catan occupy his time. He is married to Kimberly Lapatha, a talented accompanist and teacher. They enjoy eating at interesting restaurants and improving their West Broadway home. Philip is thankful for his parents for the piano lessons in his early years and the continued support through life's musical journeys.

Accompanist

Leanne Regehr Lee

Leanne Regehr Lee (B. Mus., B. Ed.) has loved playing the piano for as long as she can remember and particularly enjoys collaborating with other musicians.  Leanne has taught junior and senior high music, developing highly successful choral programs in Winnipeg and Nottingham, England.  She currently maintains an active piano teaching studio in addition to working as a collaborative pianist with a variety of professional and amateur musicians.

Now in her third year with Ecco, when she's not teaching or playing piano, she enjoys gardening, exploring new places, and spending time with her husband Garth and their always-entertaining preschool twins.
